"When you give too much effect, the result is not effective"

Nuriman Zakiroglu – Graphic Design Instructor of the Academy

Nuriman Zakiroglu is one of the few designers who discovered his design talent at a young age and invested years in this field. He started his career as a fully qualified professional designer in 2015 and during this time he achieved many successes and addressed huge audiences with his work.

Previously, "Brandup", "Duyme Agency", etc. Working in such creative advertising agencies, N. Zakiroglu directly participated in the visual communication projects of local and foreign brands such as "Samsung", "Volkswagen", "Sumgayit Technology Park", "Azertechnoline", "Focus Optika", etc.

Instructor likes to express his creativity more on branding and creative advertising posters, noting that one of his greatest pleasures is "finding abnormally creative solutions to problems." These solutions should always be simple and minimalist, and should convey the message directly to the reader.

The "Focus on Life" project he realized for the famous optics brand "Focus Optika" crossed the borders of Azerbaijan and caused the interest of viewers of various digital platforms of countries such as Turkey, Russia, USA, France, Egypt and Italy for a long time. The same project is exhibited on the famous "Creapills" of France with more than 40 million readings and "Ads of the World" platforms, where the best examples of advertising in the world are included. The Creapills platform shared these design examples under the title "proof of a simple but effective advertising campaign" and emphasized that "there is no need for big budgets for creativity".

The name of N. Zakiroglu, who gives a special place to posters in his work, appeared on the "Poster Poster" platform 3 times at certain intervals. The curators of the platform selected various poster examples of the professional designer "Black Lives Matter", "Karabakh is Azerbaijan" and "Armenia lovin' it" and displayed them in the "Poster Monday" section, where the most memorable works of the week are shared.

In addition, the poster sample prepared by the specialist for "Visa" under the title "Contactless Payment Saves Lives" was awarded the "Bronze" medal in the "Young Lions" competition held for the first time in Azerbaijan at the "Cannes Lions" festival.

N. Zakiroglu's teaching methodology is to encourage students to continuous development. According to him, sustainable development is achieved by pushing the limits, and one of the most effective ways to do this is to constantly challenge students' creativity with difficult tasks. Apart from being a professional designer, what makes the expert a favorite among his students is his high pedagogy, the outlook he instills and his teaching that turns design into a lifestyle.

Nuriman Zakiroglu, one of the finalists of the "Azerbaijan Design Award" competition, is the author of the "Baku Design Academy" logo. Instructor's students continue their design careers by receiving job offers from design agencies in countries such as America, Switzerland, and Turkey.
